Everything that could go wrong did go wrong in Washington’s 35-6 loss to Penn State. Well, there was one positive. Demond Williams got the starting nod in the second half and played pretty well for a true freshman, inheriting a 28-0 deficit in front of over 100,000 fans. Other than that, it was a horrible night for the Huskies.
When Penn State announced Washington would be its whiteout game, it was easy to predict a Nittany Lions victory. Penn State has played great football over the last few years, only losing to Ohio State or Michigan since the start of the 2022 season.
