Washingtonians on both sides of the abortion debate should applaud the 34 legislators urging state Attorney General Bob Ferguson to investigate Planned Parenthood [“GOP lawmakers want state to investigate Planned Parenthood,” Local News, July 28]. In a state where citizens are adamant about transparency in government, organizations receiving state funds should face similar scrutiny as state agencies — especially if unethical behavior is suspected.
As multiple videos showing questionable activity by Planned Parenthood have been released, including the haggling over the price of fetal body parts, Washingtonians have the right to know if this is happening in our state’s clinics.
