UCLA spent the first six weeks of the season unable to top 17 points in a game, and unsurprisingly went 1-5 in that stretch. Then in week seven at Rutgers, they exploded for 35 points, with QB Ethan Garbers eclipsing 300 yards for the first time this season. They followed that up with 27 points against a solid Nebraska defense, and then another 20 against Iowa last week. The Iowa victory was particularly huge as the Bruins found yards in the run game for the first time, where they were one of the worst rushing teams in the country heading into the matchup.
