This is not exactly an offense teaming with playmakers, but after QB Jack Lausch replaced starter Mike Wright last week, the offense finally started clicking, and the Wildcats dropped 31 points against FCS Eastern Illinois. That might not seem like much to brag about, but the 24 point margin of victory was Northwestern’s largest against an FCS foe since 2015, and it happened while Lausch was making his first career start. Not to mention they have lost twice to FCS opponents in that span, so the comfortable win combined with the offensive performance has to have Wildcat fans purring (sorry).
