BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) — Kristine Anigwe totaled 26 points and 10 rebounds and Penina Davidson added 18 points on 8-of-10 shooting with nine boards to help the No. 24 California women hold off Washington 69-60 on Friday night.
Anigwe and Davidson combined to make 20 of 28 shots from the floor (71 percent), but the rest of the Golden Bears shot just 23.5 percent (8 of 34). Asha Thomas added 14 points and eight assists, while Mikayla Cowling scored two points on 1-of-7 shooting but added 11 assists, six rebounds and three steals.
Amber Melgoza led the Huskies (6-10, 0-5) with 15 points and six assists, but she made just 5 of 18 shots from the floor as Washington connected on 21 of 61 attempts (34 percent).
