STANFORD, Calif. (AP) — Lili Thompson scored 24 of her career-high 30 points in the second half as No. 16 Stanford overcame a poor start Sunday to defeat Washington State 69-52.
Erica McCall had 11 points and 14 rebounds and Kaylee Johnson had a season-high 19 rebounds to go with seven points for the Cardinal (17-5, 7-3 Pac 12), who improved to 60-0 against the Cougars. Stanford had a 46-26 rebounding advantage.
Washington State (12-9, 3-7) took an 18-11 lead in the first quarter, holding the Cardinal to nine free throws before a basket by Thompson, after eight team misses, with 31 seconds left.
