After an 8 year absence from the NCAA tournament the Washington Huskies decided that merely getting there wasn’t good enough. The Huskies used a late surge to put away #8 seed Utah State and secure a commanding 78-61 victory. Noah Dickerson (20 points, 12 rebounds) and Jaylen Nowell (19 points, 5 assists) led the Huskies on the offensive end while Matisse Thybulle played his usual phenomenal defense (5 steals, 3 blocks).
After a terrible offensive showing in the second half of the Pac-12 title game the Huskies picked up right where they left off in this one.
