Washington continues to move towards an almost complete reset in year 2 under Danny Sprinkle as Mekhi Mason entered the transfer portal. Mason averaged 9.9 points and 2.1 rebounds per game for the Huskies in his only season in Seattle after transferring in from Rice.
It was a rocky start for Mason with Washington. Mason seemed like the clear starter at the SF spot in the preseason after averaging 14 points per game in his sophomore season with Rice. He started the first 4 games but only played 5 minutes against UMass Lowell and didn’t top 20 minutes in any of UW’s next 5 games while coming off the bench.
