Maya Moore leads Minnesota to victory

MINNEAPOLIS – Maya Moore scored 21 points — the 10th straight game the All-Star Game’s most valuable player has had at least 20 — and grabbed 10 rebounds to help the fast-starting Minnesota Lynx cruise to an 86-70 victory over the Atlanta Dream on Friday.

Moore had seven points in the first quarter and the league-leading Lynx (14-4) scored the last 11 points to race to a 26-9 lead entering the second quarter. The Dream (7-12) made a surge early in each of the last three quarters, but never cut Minnesota’s lead to single digits.

Lindsay Whalen added 15 points for Minnesota, which improved to 7-1 when scoring at least 80 points.
