Cal (14-16) moves on to face second-seeded and No. 10-ranked Arizona State on Friday in the quarterfinals at KeyArena. Anigwe, the Pac-12 freshman of the year, fouled out with 1:51 to go in regulation. Cowling finished with 12 points and four assists for Cal.
Utah’s Paige Crozon hit a three-pointer with 50 seconds left in overtime to tie it at 63.
