Weber State running back Damon Bankston opened the game moving like he was shot out of a cannon. But it was Washington’s Jonah Coleman who made the lasting first impression, torturing Wildcat defenders en route to a three-touchdown debut as the Huskies opened a new era with a 35-3 victory.
If this season is any indication of what’s to come, welcome to the Coleman show.
Though official stats won’t tell it, it only took Coleman two carries to find paydirt. He notched consecutive gains of 25 and 44 yards, with the latter being a touchdown that was called back due to holding.
