It took Joe DeMers only 84 pitches to make history.
The junior threw the first perfect game in Washington baseball history on Saturday as the Huskies beat UC Riverside 8-0 at Husky Ballpark.
DeMers struck out nine and got to a three-ball count just once, throwing the ninth no-hitter in school history. He’s the fourth Husky to throw nine innings of no-hit ball. The last no-hitter was on March 12, 2006 when Tim Lincecum and Nick Hagadone combined for a no-no.
Nick Kahle was 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI for UW (3-2).
