Jimmy Lake has big plans for Washington football

Washington football Twitter was, at best, divided over Donvan’s hire, and after appearing on Andy Staples’ podcast, it looks like Lake will have a say in what the Huskies are doing scheme-wise, and (rather unsurprisingly in my opinion) Lake wants to model Washington’s new offensive scheme after Joe Brady did with the LSU Tigers in 2019.

Below is Lake’s quote from the Andy Staples Show after Staples mentioned Joe Brady and the LSU offense.

“… I think the game is always evolving, in the years past you had strictly pro style, then in the Chip Kelly Oregon years everyone started doing the spread, the shotgun and all those things, and now it feels like it’s moving back towards the pro style with some spread elements mixed in… we’re going to put our spin on it.
