Mike Hopkins understands he’s new at navigating the Pac-12 schedule, but through 3½ weeks he identified a potential problem developing with the Washington men’s basketball team.
With the exception of Thursday’s 70-62 loss at Utah, the Huskies typically played well in the first of the two-games-a-week set, but for some reason they struggled in the second.
Case in point, in its Pac-12 opener UW torched USC offensively in an 88-81 road win at Galen Center. However two days later, the Huskies fell flat in the second half during a 74-53 disappointing setback at UCLA in which they scored a season low in points.
