Washington’s loss to Iowa was pure agony. The offense played poorly. The defense played poorly. The special teams were a shambles. The game plans and substitution patterns looked hopeless. The poorly-timed penalties resurfaced. The Dawgs even made the sort of terrible turnovers that they had largely avoided to that point in the season. Everything that could go wrong for the Dawgs in Iowa City went wrong. It was the worst football game UW has played in years, at least since the Bob Gregory Apple Cup. At the top of the team’s org chart sits Jedd Fisch, who has to own this terrible result.
