Huskies win their third straight with a defensive gem over No. 25 Arizona State

Alaska Airlines Arena rocked as Washington fans a celebrated a defensive masterpiece from the Huskies who held a high-scoring Arizona State offense in check.

The Sun Devils entered Thursday night’s game leading the conference averaging 85.9 points per game, but the Huskies turned their Pac-12 matchup into a defensive battle.

Leading by 2 points and needing a stop on with less than 40 seconds left, sophomore forward Sam Timmins came up with a critical steal that proved to be one of the biggest plays in Washington’s 68-64 victory.

Noah Dickerson finished with 21 points and 16 rebounds while Jaylen Nowell added 16 points and nine rebounds for the Huskies, which improved to 16-6 and 6-3 in the Pac-12.
