Eight days ago, the wounds from their fourth-quarter meltdown at Arizona State still fresh, the outlook was bleak for the Washington Huskies and their bowl hopes.
They had a 4-6 record going into their Nov. 21 game at Oregon State, and they would still need to knock off rival Washington State, the Pac-12’s hottest team, to be assured of a postseason berth.
Eight days and two victories later, the Huskies woke up Saturday morning sporting a 6-6 record, having outscored the Beavers and Cougars by a combined 97-17 to close out a hot-and-cold regular season with momentum going into the postseason and optimism about the future.
