Washington has had its chances this year against top competition. Paul Mulcahy missed a free throw with 1 second left that would’ve allowed UW to beat San Diego State in regulation before falling by 3 in overtime. The Dawgs were tied with a ranked Colorado State team with 1:15 left before falling just short.
Both of those games were in Las Vegas but Washington found lady luck this time at home. Franck Kepnang’s energy on both ends sparked a Husky defense that clamped down in the 2nd half and Washington surged ahead for a 78-73 win over #7-ranked Gonzaga.
