Washington had no problem putting away two opponents in volleyball action at home Friday.
The Huskies (5-0) opened the day with a 25-13, 25-15, 25-9 victory over Buffalo and then dispatched Murray State, the defending Ohio Valley Conference champion, with a 25-18, 25-8, 25-11 victory in the night cap, handing Murray State (3-1) its first defeat of the season.
Sophomore Courtney Schwan led the Huskies in the two matches with 19 kills on 42 swings. Senior Melanie Wade had 16 kills on 24 swings.
OTHER VOLLEYBALL
• Seattle Pacific split its first two matches of the season, beating Molloy College of New York 25-17, 25-16, 25-15 before losing to Dixie State 25-21, 25-16, 25-22 in the Cal State Los Angeles Invitational.
