The Huskies’ top two NFL draft prospects, Vita Vea and Dante Pettis, aren’t expected to do much, if anything, during the on-field workouts at Washington’s Pro Day workout on Saturday morning.
Injuries limited Vea and Pettis during the NFL Scouting Combine last weekend in Indianapolis. Vea, a 347-pound defensive lineman projected as a top-15 draft pick, ran a strong 5.10-second 40-yard dash on Sunday morning but also tweaked a hamstring during the combine. There probably isn’t much for him to gain by running through more drills on campus Saturday.
Pettis, a wide receiver projected to go as high as the second round, is still recovering from an ankle injury he suffered early in the Huskies’ Apple Cup victory over Washington State in November.
