Catching up on some post-paternity-leave links:
- Each Pac-12 football program will assign a new spotter to help monitor injuries during games. The spotter will have new video technology, the Pac-12 announced, and have direct communication with coaches and medical personnel “so that any potential concerns can be addressed immediately.”
- The Pac-12 CEO Group has also approved the creation of an in-house multimedia rights sales arm, which could eliminate third parties such as IMG from schools’ multimedia deals — and thus, in theory, boost athletic departments’ bottom line. Washington IMG, for example, brokered UW’s new radio-rights deal with KOMO last summer.
