Add another highly touted recruit to Washington’s stacked secondary.
Brandon McKinney, a four-star safety from Lutheran High in Orange, Calif., announced his verbal commitment to the Huskies on Saturday.
Scout ranks McKinney as the No. 1 safety recruit in California for the Class of 2017 and the nation’s No. 233 recruit overall.
With 11 total commitments, UW’s 2017 class is ranked No. 17 nationally by Scout and No. 22 by 247sports.com.
McKinney’s commitment caps a busy week for UW coach Chris Petersen, who spent two days in Southern California for the Pac-12 media days — and hustled back to Seattle on Friday afternoon to attend the Rising Stars high school camp at Husky Stadium.
