Huskies’ colors for opener are purple, green

If there’s a theme to the Huskies’ offense this season, it’s green. As in young, immature, unripe.

Come Friday night in Boise, the Huskies will start to find out if green is good. Or, at least, good enough to compete with No. 23 Boise State.

Of the 31 players listed on Washington’s offensive depth chart, 19 are underclassmen. If not against the Broncos, then at some point this season it’s conceivable that the Huskies could have a true freshman playing quarterback (Jake Browning), a true freshman left tackle (Trey Adams), a true freshman running back (Myles Gaskin) and three true freshmen receivers (Chico McClatcher, Isaiah Renfro, Quinten Pounds).
