Washington seniors Cassie Strickland and Lianna Sybeldon were named to the Preseason All-Pac-12 volleyball team, and the Huskies were picked to finish third in the conference based on coaches’ voting.
The Huskies began practice Monday and will play their first match Aug. 28 at Gonzaga.
Washington was voted to finish third for the fifth time in the past six years. Stanford received the maximum number of first-place votes with 11 and 121 total points to lead the preseason poll. Coaches are not allowed to vote for their own teams. The Huskies, with 97 points overall received the lone remaining first-place vote over Arizona State, who was voted to finish second with 99 points.
