Huskies bring back Bush Hamdan to be offensive coordinator

The Washington Huskies announced the hiring of Atlanta Falcons quarterbacks coach Bush Hamdan as offensive coordinator on Sunday. Hamdan replaces Jonathan Smith, who left to become the head coach at Oregon State earlier in the week.

A former college quarterback under current Huskies head coach Chris Petersen at Boise State, Hamdan came to UW as a receivers coach in 2015 after stints as an offensive coordinator at Davidson and Arkansas State. Regarded as a top recruiter and a rising star in coaching circles, he left to take the job with the Falcons in February.

"I'm very excited that Bush is coming back to join our staff," Petersen said in a release from the school.
