The Huskies begin their second week of fall camp today with a closed scrimmage, a small but important milestone in the buildup to the season opener at Boise State 20 days from now.
At some point soon, the Huskies will want to start to make sense of a firmer two-deep depth chart; guys who are going to play most often will need to get the most reps in practice. And that is especially true at quarterback, where the two freshmen — redshirt freshman K.J. Carta-Samuels and Jake Browning — will need all the practice snaps they can get in the next few weeks if there’s a chance they will play in the opener.
