Representatives from the Holiday Bowl and the Independence Bowl attended the Apple Cup on Friday, and those bowl games appear to be the most likely destinations for the Cougars and Huskies, respectively.
With the win, the Huskies (6-6, 4-5) became the 10th team from the Pac-12 to earn bowl eligibility. As such, they will likely have to settle for an at-large bowl bid. The Independence Bowl, scheduled for Dec. 26 in Shreveport, La., is one likely option; the Heart of Dallas Bowl (Dec. 26) and the Hawaii Bowl (Dec. 24) have also been speculated as possibilities.
“Wherever we end up, (the goal is) we go and play well in a bowl game,” UW coach Chris Petersen said after the Huskies’ 45-10 victory.
