I hate to give a grade like this, because without Michael Penix Jr. and these receives, Washington doesn’t get close to playing in a National Championship game, let alone competing for the playoff. But, against an elite defense like Michigan’s, they just couldn’t execute at the same level they had most of the season.
Rome Odunze had a long catch of 44 yards, but no other receiver topped 15 yards. Even when receivers were open and Penix had some time to throw, he just plain missed. His 5 yards per attempt was the lowest of the season, and his 3 turnover worthy plays (per PFF) was the highest.
