His Husky debut amounted to, well, exactly nothing: zero yards gained on his only carry.
Eight days later, in his Husky Stadium debut, freshman running back Salvon Ahmed had a game-high 54 yards on nine carries and his first collegiate touchdown in Washington’s 63-7 victory over Montana on Saturday.
UW coach Chris Petersen had said earlier in the week that he wanted to get Ahmed integrated in the offense more than that one carry in the win at Rutgers. Circumstances dictated otherwise (namely, the Huskies ran only 54 plays in the opener).
On Saturday, Ahmed got involved early, catching a pass from Jake Browning for an 8-yard gain on UW’s second offensive drive.
