Four Washington Huskies took one step closer to the NCAA outdoor track and field championships on Thursday at the NCAA West Regional in Austin, Texas.
Gianna Woodruff in 400 hurdles (59.17 seconds), Eleanor Fulton in the 1,500 (4:28.62), Izaic Yorks in the 1,500 (3:46.53) and Baylee Mires in the 800 (2:07.53) all navigated their first-round races, setting them up for quarterfinals Friday or Saturday with bids to nationals in Eugene, Ore., on the line.
Four of eight Washington State athletes advanced to quarterfinal competition.
