Choosing Washington wasn’t easy for four-star recruit Elijah Molden — especially when he snubbed his favorite childhood team, the Oregon Ducks, to do so.
Molden, a cornerback from West Linn, Ore., grew up rooting for the Ducks. His father, Alex Molden, was a star cornerback for Oregon in the 1990s.
“That was hard for me, and I don’t blame them (Oregon fans) for not liking me at all,” Molden said in an interview with The Oregonian’s John Canzano on Monday. “
Molden announced his commitment to the Huskies on Saturday afternoon after driving to Seattle and informing UW coach Chris Petersen and co-defensive coordinator Jimmy Lake of his decision.
