Four-star prospect JaQuori McLaughlin no longer committed to Washington

Peninsula High junior star JaQuori McLaughlin, a four-star 2016 prospect, is the latest basketball player to back away from the Huskies.

The 6-3, 170-pound point guard from Gig Harbor, who committed to Washington last November, has re-opened his recruiting with hopes taking 3-4 official visits and signing in the fall.

McLaughlin’s father Jay said his 17-year-old son hasn’t necessarily soured on UW, but is curious about his recruiting options.

“He has some regret that he didn’t really take the full opportunity to enjoy it and say hey I can go see some of these places that I’ve never been to before,” Jay McLaughlin said.
