Former Washington defensive end Daniel Te’o-Nesheim, who graduated from the program in 2009 as the Huskies’ all-time sack leader, has died at age 30, according to a report from KITV-ABC in Honolulu.
Details of his death are not immediately known.
Te’o-Nesheim, born in American Samoa, attended Hawaii Preparatory Academy in Kamuela, Hawaii, and returned this year as the school’s head coach.
Teammates voted Te’o-Nesheim the Huskies’ defensive MVP during his sophomore season in 2007, when he led th led the team in tackles for loss (15.0) and sacks (8.5). He was a team captain for the Huskies during his final two seasons in 2008-09 and was twice presented UW’s L.
