CENTENNIAL, Colo. (AP) — The father of Colorado theater shooter James Holmes said he didn’t know his son suffered from mental illness until he killed 12 people at a Batman movie.
Emotions just weren’t talked about in his family, Robert Holmes acknowledged after defense lawyers put him on the stand in an effort to save his son from the death penalty.
