Steve Lavin has emerged as a potential candidate to be the next head coach at Washington, the Seattle Times reported on Saturday night.
Lavin, who was in Orlando doing color commentary for the NCAA Tournament, wouldn't comment on the report when asked by ESPN.
However, sources told ESPN that Lavin would be interested in the opportunity at Washington because of the fit.
Lavin, a San Francisco native, spent 12 seasons at UCLA, five as an assistant coach and seven as the head coach. His last four seasons as an assistant were spent alongside Lorenzo Romar, who was fired by Washington on Wednesday.
