There was a feeling around Seattle in the spring of 2011 that Isaiah Thomas was making a big mistake when he decided to leave Washington and enter the NBA draft with a year of eligibility remaining.
Many UW die-hards believed the diminutive dynamo was throwing away a chance to become the school’s all-time scoring leader (he was sixth on the list at the time) and would never be able to return to Montlake to be considered one of the program’s all-time greats.
And that in a nutshell pretty much sums up Thomas’ historic career.
He’s spent his life proving doubters wrong and overcoming obstacles.
