On the bright side, the gymnastics and softball teams posted impressive victories of their own, and Isaiah Thomas showed some bright flashes in his debut as an L.A. Laker.
After notching a pair of top-25 victories two weeks ago against the Arizona schools, Washington took a decided tumble back toward earth in the last few days by losing consecutive contests to the Oregon Ducks and the Oregon State Beavers.
