The quarterback position has been a huge thorn in the sides of Washington coaches throughout this recruiting cycle. Highly rated prospects Jacob Eason, Matt Fink, Max Gilliam, Dillon Sterling-Cole, and Armani Rogers all passed on the Huskies. UW also showed interest in guys like Justin Herbert and David Moore, but those pursuits never materialized into an offer for either target.
Then Chris Petersen turned his sights on dual threat, and at the time a New Mexico State commit, Daniel Bridge-Gadd from Paradise Valley High School in Phoenix. Petersen sent QB coach and OC Jonathan Smith down to Arizona to scout Bridge-Gadd in person on October 2nd.
