Since 1922, there has been a dog to represent the Washington Huskies.
Mascots through the years have included Spirit, Frosty, Wasky, Ski, Denali, Regent Denali, Sundodger, King Redoubt and Prince Redoubt.
King Chinook reigned as the Husky mascot from 1959 to 1968. He started in 1959 as a 6-week-old pup.
He lived in a one-acre pen at with the Cross family in Kirkland, according to a 1998 Seattle Times article. The article described King Chinook as such: “A familiar figure to thousands of Seattleites and alumni in many parts of the world, King loved football and crowds.
