Both the men’s and women’s golf teams at Washington are in 10th place after the first day of separate tournaments Monday.
The men were at the Shoal Creek Invitational in Birmingham, Ala., and posted a pair of 298s and stand 10th out of 12 teams. Carl Yuan is the top Husky with a pair of 73s.
The women are at the Annika Intercollegiate in Orlando, Fla., and they went 291-290 and are 10th out of 12 teams. Ying Luo and Charlotte Thomas are the top Huskies at 144, even par.

• Led by Derek Bayley firing a 66 and a 65 with no bogeys all day, the Washington State men jumped out to a 20-stroke lead in its Itana Quality Homes Collegiate at Palouse Ridge.
