Washington's embattled hoops program got some good news today as Auburn transfer Matthew Atewe announced his intention to join the Huskies. The 6'10" post will petition for immediate eligibility after missing all of this past season with a leg injury.
It's been a rough stretch of late for Lorenzo Romar and the Washington men's basketball program, but they got some good news today as Matthew Atewe - a muscular 6'10" post from Brampton, Ontario, Canada by way of Notre Dame Prep in Massachusetts - announced his intention to transfer from Auburn to join the Huskies:

Atewe took a visit this weekend to Seattle and loved what he saw but wanted the chance to talk with his family before making his announcement today.
