TEMPE, Ariz. — The Washington Huskies (4-6, 2-5 Pac-12) crumbled in the second half and lost 27-17 to Arizona State on Saturday afternoon. It was UW’s 10th consecutive defeat against the Sun Devils going back to 2001. Here are three early impressions:
Another desert debacle: The Huskies led 17-0 in the second quarter, and the margin should have been more. Overthrows and dropped passes prevented them from really put the game out of reach early, and that came back to haunt the Huskies. Arizona State, trailing 17-3 at halftime, tied the score at 17-17 on Mike Bercovici’s 32-yard TD pass to Devin Lucien at the 13:52 mark of the fourth quarter.
