Just after Washington’s goalkeeper was hit with a red card with 5:01 left in the second overtime, Arizona State scored on a penalty kick to beat the Huskies 2-1 in women’s soccer in Seattle.
Megan Kufeld got the red card for the Huskies (10-3-2, 3-2-1 Pac-12) and was replaced by Sarah Shimer.
Whitney Kanavel scored the winner for ASU (5-7-1, 1-4-1) on a penalty kick for her first goal of the season.
ASU scored first at 33:49 on a goal by Jessica Raybe. Washington answered with seven seconds left in the first half when Pascale Dumesnil scored.
