2017 Safety KJ Jarrell Commits ASU, Eludes Washington Huskies

Despite the offer from the University of Washington Huskies, the decision for 3-star safety KJ Jarrell came down to two schools: Arizona State University, and the University of Southern California.

Recently, the USC Trojans have successfully poached players who had committed to other programs, including University of Washington’s commit 5-star recruit defensive tackle Marlon Tuipulotu.

Sometimes that level of success can be counter-productive as prospects who have not yet committed see a dwindling opportunity to play for that team. And so, other teams take on a brighter luster. It was that effect which might have placed the University of Washington in the running.
