When the Redskins play Cleveland in Thursday’s preseason opener, a lot of eyes will be on Browns second-year quarterback Johnny Manziel, but as far as Washington cornerback and fellow former Texas A&M Aggie Deshazor Everett is concerned, the important ones will be watching Everett, too.
The undrafted rookie is among several young members of the defensive backfield who have seen increased playing time as the top four corners on the Redskins’ depth chart recover from injuries, and the young guys are hoping to turn that increased exposure into a roster spot. Chris Culliver and DeAngelo Hall have been nursing groin strains, though both returned to practice Monday.
