With Riley Jr. inactive, Redskins face Giants with thin inside linebacking corps

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J.–Unable to practice all week with a calf injury, inside linebacker Perry Riley Jr. leads the list of Redskins inactives for the team’s NFC East opener at MetLife Stadium.

Riley, who suffered the injury in the Week 2 victory over St. Louis, will be replaced in the lineup by Will Compton. That means the Redskins will have just three inside linebackers available for the game—in addition to Compton, starter Keenan Robinson and Terrance Plummer, who was just recently moved up from the practice squad.

For a third consecutive week, Robert Griffin III was made inactive as the Redskins’ third quarterback.
