After getting off to a promising start, recording 2.5 sacks in his second game with the Washington Redskins last season, prized free-agent acquisition Jason Hatcher experienced a drastic dropoff and wound up limping through the remainder of the year — literally.
With just 5.5 sacks at the conclusion of the season — Hatcher missed the final two games because of nagging knee injuries — Hatcher failed to live up to the expectations team officials had for him when they signed him to a three-year, $27.5 million deal.
Five months later, Hatcher feels rejuvenated and optimistic both because of improved health, and a new defensive scheme.
