In preparation for the NFL’s schedule release, expected sometime next week, I was digging into our coverage from previous years. Washington football fans have been optimistic about the Redskins the past two preseasons, almost comically so in hindsight.
Around the time the 2013 schedule came out, readers predicted 10.3 wins. The team went 3-13. Last year, in our schedule predictor, readers had 9.8 wins. The team was 4-12.
This time though, it isn’t coming off a playoff appearance like after the 2012 season. There was no high-profile star added in the offseason, like last year with DeSean Jackson, and no way you can simply blame the quarterback struggles on the absence of health.
