As training camp opens in Richmond this week, we will perhaps begin to get the first clues as to the sort of team the Washington Redskins will be this season.
Inevitably, a new quarterback is going to change the face and dynamic of the offense, but with a new running back and potentially No. 1 wide receiver, it will be interesting to see how coach Jay Gruden and his lieutenants, Matt Cavanaugh and Kevin O’Connell, approach the offense.
Defensively, the personnel changes are not as stark, but defensive coordinator Greg Manusky will hope that last years first-round pick Jonathan Allen can remain healthy and play in tandem with this year’s first choice, Daron Payne.
