On one hand, the Unheralded Players project sometimes seems like an endeavor not worth the effort. All of the Washington Redskins players we’ve covered thus far — Hale Hentges, Emanuel Hall, Cameron Malveaux, and now Maurice Smith — have small chances of making the 53-man roster.
But even so, there is a chance that Malveaux edges out players such as Ryan Anderson and James Smith-Williams to take the team’s final defensive line spot. There is a chance that Hentges takes advantage of a clouded tight end situation, and sticks around.
